Lightower Named Authorized Vendor for Massachusetts State Government Network Services Contract ITT46

Lightower can now provide all-fiber solutions to Massachusetts statewide agencies in conjunction with the Massachusetts Higher Education Consortium (MHEC).
Government entities gain access to suite of high-capacity, fiber-based networking solutions including Ethernet, Dark Fiber, and Internet Access.
Customized solutions allow governments to design and upgrade networks that form the foundation for today’s high-demand government services.

BOXBOROUGH, MA — February 5, 2013 — Lightower Fiber Networks, the premier metro fiber and bandwidth provider in the Northeast, announced that it has been named an authorized vendor to the Massachusetts state government through the statewide ITT46 Network Services contract. The award enables Lightower to offer Ethernet, SONET, Internet Access, Colocation and Dark Fiber solutions to Massachusetts state and local government entities.

Government agencies today face unique challenges as they provide information and protection to the public. With budgets shrinking, while the demand for services continues to increase, state and local government agencies are transforming themselves to meet the demands of their constituents. Lightower’s fiber-based networking solutions are well-suited to help governments cost-effectively upgrade their network infrastructure and develop future-proof, advanced services without sacrificing flexibility or control.

“Lightower’s networking solutions provide bandwidth capacities and low latencies only available with fiber-based services while still offering complete flexibility for the customer,” stated Doug Dalissandro, EVP of Sales for Lightower. “Government customers have unique requirements and our customized solutions also offer simple upgrade paths in the future. For example, a Lightower government customer with Ethernet today can easily scale up their bandwidth, add services, or move to dark fiber in the future as their needs grow.”

All Massachusetts Higher Education Consortium (MHEC) members qualify to purchase through this contract. Other government entities are also eligible, including state branches and agencies, cities, towns, counties, as well as other states and territories.
