Dedicated, secure, low latency connections to iland’s public cloud now available across TelecityGroup’s UK facilities
iland, the global cloud infrastructure provider, has today launched iland CloudConnect, offering VMware® customers located in TelecityGroup’s UK data centres a direct connection to iland’s infrastructure as a service (IaaS) cloud. iland CloudConnect enables enterprises to build cost-effective and flexible hybrid cloud environments by establishing a dedicated network connection from private VMware-based platforms to iland’s cloud.
The direct connection, newly available to TelecityGroup customers wanting to connect into the iland platform, enables reduced network costs, increased bandwidth throughput, and a more consistent network experience than internet-based connections. The service is available immediately for customers based in any of TelecityGroup’s data centres in the UK. Customers with equipment located in their own office or data centre can also access the service via the choice of over 400 carriers available in TelecityGroup data centres.
Gavin Jackson, EMEA Director of Cloud Services & Partners, VMware comments: “As iland’s cloud is a VMware vCloud Powered environment, companies will be able to easily and securely transfer workloads from their private VMware platform while maintaining capacity, service levels, and user access. This is an exciting development for those customers, allowing them to maximise their VMware investment and utilise the benefits of hybrid cloud models. It will enable the flexibility, resource availability and risk reduction that comes with such a solution.”
Dante Orsini, VP Business Development, iland comments: “Hybrid cloud solutions provide organisations with the control and flexibility required to meet the changing demands of their business quickly and effectively. iland CloudConnect allows VMware customers in TelecityGroup’s data centres to enjoy all of these benefits without needing to reconfigure cross-platform applications or retrain staff. Building upon vCloud’s robust and proven security model, the dedicated connection allows customers to connect at GigE speeds ensuring consistently high performance while migrating workloads to and from the cloud.”
Rob Coupland, TelecityGroup’s UK Managing Director, commented: “The premium levels of connectivity, power, security and resilience we guarantee at our datacentres create the ideal environments for cloud service providers such as iland to grow and flourish. TelecityGroup data centres enable frictionless partnerships between enterprise, cloud and connectivity providers and we are delighted to be expanding the range of services provided by our customers to each other from within our facilities. By working with expert partners such as iland, TelecityGroup customers benefit from a wide range of enterprise grade cloud and connectivity solutions available locally in the data centre.”
