【Shenzhen, China, February 4, 2013】Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced that its Tecal RH5885 V2 rack server performed strongly in the recent Transaction Processing Performance Council (TPC) Enterprise Benchmark (TPC-E) test for four-socket servers.
Based on a simulation of the daily transaction process of the world’s largest stock exchange—New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the TPC-E test effectively evaluates hardware, software, and server systems by simulating high-end, high-intensity applications. The benchmark test results provide key indicators for server selection across various large industries including finance, telecommunications and electronic businesses. The excellent and stable performance in the test shows that Huawei servers are reliable and capable of addressing needs of key service applications in the simulation scenario and handling stringent demands required in real-life business environments.
“With the rising trends of cloud computing and big data, customers now have higher expectations for server performance. The outstanding results that Huawei achieved in the TPC-E test, along with our excellent performance in another prominent test in the industry – the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC) test, serves as strong testament to the capability of Huawei’s high-end servers in helping customers from different industries construct high-performance IT infrastructure,” said Mr. Qiu Long, General Manager of Huawei Servers.
The RH5885 V2 is the latest four-socket rack server launched by Huawei, which has up to 1TB of memory and adopts 35 forms of fault-tolerant technologies based on a fault-tolerant architecture, providing excellent reliability and performance. With an emphasis on ease of maintenance, replacement of a key component of the RH5885 V2 can be completed within one minute. The RH5885 V2 can be also smoothly scale up to an eight-socket system, making it an ideal choice for deploying key services for large databases, business intelligence (BI), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
The RH5885 V2 is also one of the first servers in the industry to run on a single virtual machine (VM) with 1,000,000 input/output operations per second (IOPS) based on Hyper-V. In 2012, the RH5885 V2 set 12 new records in the SPEC performance test, between October and November.
