HFN Goes Live with Mahwah Route Reducing Latency by 41% Across Key New Jersey Data Center Hubs

PARAMUS, N.J.–()–Hudson Fiber Network (HFN), the leading U.S. based-transport and IP services provider specializing in delivering network solutions to the financial community, announced today that its new Mahwah route is live.

HFN created and architected the optical lit platform on the route, while the physical fiber optic route was designed and constructed by Cross River Fiber, a New Jersey-based, boutique dark fiber transport solutions provider. The new paths are the shortest/fastest ever constructed between the following locations:

  • Mahwah to 755 Secaucus Road, Secaucus/NY4 at 42.4 kms or 424.9us RTD
  • Mahwah to 165 Halsey Street, Newark at 47.1 kms or 471.4us RTD
  • Mahwah to 1400 Federal Boulevard, Carteret at 69.9 kms or 699.8us RTD
  • Mahwah to 300 Boulevard East, Weehawken at 47.8 kms or 478.8us RTD

The new route exceeds published performance estimates and sets new industry standards with an average 41% latency reduction across key data center hubs in New Jersey. Tests for latency measurement with official Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) metrics are completed and results are available upon request.

HFN offers dark fiber and lit services, as well as HFN’s industry-changing wave services on this route. Fully protected and redundant solutions are available to meet the individual needs of its clients. HFN’s passive wave offering allows clients to choose their own frequency – the only offering of its kind in the industry. HFN has already presold over 35% of available capacity.

“There has been much hype about delivering substantial latency reductions for the financial services community across the New York metro area. HFN is the first to deliver the lowest fiber latency connectivity possible for the four new paths,” states Brett Diamond, President of HFN. “Our commercial exclusivity on the new route, through Cross River Fiber, enables us to not only provide optimal performance, but also maintain best value redundancy for the highly sought-after route.”

“The surge of customer activation demonstrates how essential the Mahwah route is for the top financial institutions in New York, New Jersey and elsewhere,” adds Keith Muller, CEO of HFN. “Our commitment to design and build customer-driven solutions for the financial community continues to deliver critical advantages for our clients and set us apart as the premier expert and partner to the industry.”
