Gamma launches SIP Trunking service in TelecityGroup

Direct connections to Gamma’s SIP Trunking solution adds to the rich connectivity options available from TelecityGroup data centres

Gamma, the UK-based telecommunications provider, has today launched its leading SIP Trunking service, IP DirectConnect, in TelecityGroup’s UK data centres. By connecting directly into Gamma’s SIP Trunking solution, customers in all of TelecityGroup’s UK facilities can enjoy resilient, flexible and cost-effective IP-based voice services via their local data centre.

Compared to traditional ISDN solutions, Gamma SIP Trunks enable greater flexibility in terms of what telephone numbers organisations can use, are simpler to install, and offer a robust business continuity guarantee that ensures calls are never lost. Available immediately, the solution adds to the wide-range of value-added services already available to TelecityGroup customers as part of the thriving digital ecosystems and connectivity hubs in its UK data centres.

Andy Chalkley, Head of Data Centres & Service Providers at Gamma said: “Our SIP Trunking solution is ideal for organisations of all sizes – from SMEs to large businesses to the public sector – that have a PBX or Unified Communications system. It enables these organisations to enjoy flexibility with their phone numbers, boost business continuity and save money on voice calls. As the leader in the European data centre market, TelecityGroup has a large base of carriers for us to connect to and thousands of potential customers that can now utilise our services. We expect that TelecityGroup will be a significant partner for us moving forward.”

Rob Coupland, TelecityGroup’s UK Managing Director, commented: “Our data centres are thriving, digital ecosystems, offering our customers the widest choice of cloud service providers, connectivity providers and trading platforms to connect directly into. We’re delighted to be further expanding the options available in our facilities by working with Gamma to enable this SIP Trunking solution. It is a further demonstration of the enterprise grade connectivity solutions that are available to customers locally in our data centres.”
