BTI’s Solutions Allow Adams Telephone Co-Operative to Drive New Mobile Backhaul and Ethernet Business Services

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA – February 4, 2013

BTI Systems, the software and networking leader empowering content and service providers to capitalize on trends in mobility, Internet video and cloud services, today announced that Adams Telephone Co-Operative has leveraged BTI’s Mobile Backhaul, Ethernet Business Services and Metro Packet Optical solutions to upgrade and expand their network. Adams Telephone serves consumers and businesses across Illinois, providing the full range of voice, video, Ethernet business and mobile services. The announcement was made at the 2013 Rural Telecom Industry Meeting and Expo, where BTI is exhibiting in Booth #114.

“With our customer base increasing and higher than ever demands for online services, we knew we needed to upgrade and expand our network,” said Tim Hightower, technical services manager, Adams Telephone Co-Operative. “With BTI’s end-to-end solutions deployed, we are able to retain existing equipment investments while transitioning to Carrier Ethernet. We’ve been able to scale our capacity to create new revenue streams, such as mobile backhaul and Ethernet business services, across our entire network. Combined with a small footprint and low use of power, BTI’s solutions have us in great shape for years to come.”

Adams has deployed the BTI 7000 Series packet optical networking platform and the proNX Service Manager with the SLA Portal software. The Metro Ethernet Forum CE Certified BTI 7000 Series provides Adams with carrier-grade, modular and scalable pay-as-you-grow configurations.

BTI’s proNX Service Manager and SLA Portal software deliver the industry’s best end-to-end network management, service provisioning and performance monitoring for mobile backhaul, Ethernet business services and metro packet optical core solutions. With end-to-end service management, comprehensive SLA assurance and open interfaces for applications control, Adams can increase operational efficiencies and network control. Combined with the 7000 Series, this has enabled Adams to improve infrastructure efficiency, increase the rate of delivery of profitable high-value services and deliver more highly scalable, flexible network solutions that readily adapt to changing business needs.

Fully integrated across access, aggregation and core networks, BTI’s Mobile Backhaul Solution is an end-to-end offering designed to help providers keep pace with demand for mobile services. It’s the only solution on the market that supports widespread 3G and 4G deployments in metro and regional networks by providing a complete, unified approach for voice, data and multimedia services with comprehensive network management. The proNX SLA Portal enables Adams to comply with mobile backhaul RFP requirements of the major wireless carriers. Having real-time SLA data collection, monitoring and reporting additionally provides them with the assurance that they are in full compliance.

“Rural independent providers, such as Adams Telephone Co-Operative, serve 40% of the U.S. land mass and more than 4.5 million consumers,” said Brandon Sigmund, sales engineering manager, BTI. “They are critical to consumers and businesses across the country. Adams recognizes the importance of providing the highest-value services to their customer base. Leveraging field-proven experience, BTI enables Adams to stay ahead competitively and optimize their considerable network assets to offer Carrier Ethernet and mobile backhaul services. We look forward to continuing to work closely with market leaders such as Adams.”
