Zayo offers 100G Waves on NYC to Philadelphia and Philadelphia to Washington, D.C. Routes
LOUISVILLE, Colo. – January 29, 2013– Zayo Group announces its introduction of 100G Wavelength services on its New York City to Philadelphia and Philadelphia to Washington, D.C. fiber routes.
The deployment of the 100G Wavelength system will give customers the ability to scale with bandwidth intensive applications beyond speeds currently available. The Northeast Corridor, which connects Washington D.C. to New York City through Philadelphia, has a concentration of financial, government and large enterprise customers that require high bandwidth solutions like 100G Wavelengths.
This deployment is a milestone for Zayo, as it represents the company’s first native 100G Wavelength route. Consistent with Zayo’s previously announced nationwide 100G deployment strategy the Northeast deployment will leverage the latest generation coherent technology. The deployment connects key IP Peering points / Data Center Locations:
- Ashburn / Washington, D.C.– 21715 Filigree Data Center Campus & 2100 M St NW
- New York City – 111 8th Avenue
- Philadelphia – 401 North Broad Street
“This 100G route is now deployed and ready for customer implementations,” says Zach Nebergall of Zayo’s Wavelength Product Group. “Zayo designed the network to be able to offer compelling economics to our customers across this key, high demand corridor”
