Ukraine’s State Tax Service Chooses Cisco Videoconferencing Solutions

Cisco-Based Communications System Connects 43 Regional Tax Offices

KYIV, Ukraine January 22, 2013 – Cisco today announced that the State Tax Service of Ukraine (STSU) has deployed a highly secure communications system that combines solutions for video and audio conferencing, data sharing, text-to-speech, decision support management and uninterrupted power supply. Within the project implemented by AMI, a Cisco® Select Certified Partner in Ukraine, 43 regional offices of the service across the entire Ukrainian territory have been renovated.

The STSU videoconferencing system enables real-time meetings with HD transmission and recording, supporting up to five conferences with 40 participants.

The system is based on two Cisco TelePresence® MCU 5320 video servers, the Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server (VCS), Cisco VCSE external calling server, Cisco TelePresence Content Server, and Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS). The STSU conference hall has three rotating cameras with 12х optical zoom, automatically focusing on the speaking person (whether on the podium or down in the hall) and showing his or her close-up image on video terminals. Forty-three terminals installed in STSU offices are connected to a common network.

The solution also includes a decision support system that helps to plan meetings and register their minutes. It provides quick access to sections of video library related to specific records in the minutes, thus facilitating execution and control.

Supporting Quotes

Olexander Klymenko, director, State Tax Service of Ukraine:

“Due to fast interactions with regional offices, operations have become more efficient. We can instantly observe the situation in the regions, react to changes, and quickly correct our tactical approaches. Data exchange between various entities of the Tax Service has accelerated. It is even more important that information became more trustworthy and detailed because it arrives straight from the source without a chain of intermediate instances.”

Vladislav Maslo, CEO, AMI:

“The project of building a highly secure special communications system for STSU has been performed within very limited time. For instance, in just seven working days we launched the central system, connected all offices, tuned and verified the solution.”

Alexander Chemerys, account manager, Cisco Ukraine:

“More and more government agencies in Ukraine use the benefits of Cisco video technologies that support interactive collaboration between employees while ensuring the high speed and efficiency of communications. These technologies are not only fast and convenient. They help to save time and cost of organizing and holding conferences, as well as eliminate a lot of travelling expenses.”
