- Akamai is top Massachusetts-based technology company on list
CAMBRIDGE, MA – December 19, 2012 – Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKAM, news, filings), the leading cloud platform for helping enterprises provide secure, high-performing user experiences on any device, anywhere, today announced it has been recognized as a Top 50 Best Places to Work, 2013, by Glassdoor. The Employees’ Choice Awards, now in its fifth year, rely solely on the input of employees who elect to provide feedback on their job, work environment and company via Glassdoor’s anonymous online company review survey.
Akamai is the highest ranked technology company headquartered in Massachusetts on the Glassdoor list, and placed 17th overall.

Close to half a million company reviews were submitted by employees to Glassdoor during the past 12 months to help put their employers in the running for the awards. The Glassdoor company review survey asks employees to rate their satisfaction with the company overall, as well as key workplace factors like career opportunities, compensation and benefits, work/life balance, senior management, and culture & values.
The list was compiled using Glassdoor’s proprietary algorithm, and the overall ranking was determined according to each company’s overall Glassdoor rating. For the purpose of this report, the overall rating is the cumulative average rating from US-based employees who elected to participate in the survey between November 23, 2011 and November 13, 2012.
Akamai was also named one of Glassdoor’s Top 25 Companies for Career Opportunities in America and recently earned recognition as one of The Boston Globe’s “Top Places to Work, 2012” and one of India’s Best Companies to Work for 2012 by Great Place To Work Institute.
