Zayo Completes Dark Fiber Build to DuPont Fabros Technology’s ACC6 Data Center
LOUISVILLE, CO–(Marketwire – Nov 29, 2012) – Zayo Group, an international Bandwidth Infrastructure company, announces the completion of its fiber-optic network to DuPont Fabros Technology’s (“DFT”) ACC6 Data Center located in Ashburn, Virginia. This build provides diverse dark fiber connectivity in point-to-point or ring topology to customers between the DuPont Fabros facility and Zayo’s regional and national network.
Zayo will provide a suite of services into DFT’s ACC6 Data Center, which includes Ethernet, IP, Wavelengths and Dark Fiber. Additionally, Zayo is offering services to major internet exchange points in Ashburn, Virginia.
This build was enabled by Zayo’s recent acquisition of FiberGate, which closed on September 4, 2012. Zayo has connectivity to all of DFT’s Data Centers. Data Center connectivity is a critical focus for Zayo and currently has 10,000+ buildings on net across the U.S. and Europe.
“Connecting into DFT’s newest facility aligns with our strategy to have a dense Data Center network,” says Jim Nolte, SVP of Sales at Zayo Group. “Customers at the ACC6 Facility will have enhanced connectivity to other Data Centers, Internet Peering Locations, Carrier Hotels and Enterprise locations, among others.”
“Zayo’s fiber-optic network provides specialized dark fiber solutions to our existing and new customers within ACC6,” says Vinay Nagpal, Director of Carrier Relations, of DuPont Fabros Technology, Inc. “This builds on our goal to enhance fiber density for our customers and expands our relationship with Zayo, which currently provides connectivity to our ten operating Data Centers in the U.S.”
