The Agile Network is Ready to Deploy Broadband Service in Ohio

CANTON … Agile Networks, a telecommunications services company headquartered in Canton, Ohio, announced today that DataCenter.BZ of Columbus has rounded out Agile’s core network in Ohio. The Agile Network is a privately funded build-out of a carrier class data network that spans the state of Ohio. Itcombines fiber and 4G wireless for business, residential and government clients.

When the build-out is complete in 2014 it willcover over 3 million address points across Ohio with residentialbroadband and carrier class MPLS Ethernet. Deploying this statewide utilityrequires a network core that is state-of-the-art, and that is located at a major crossroads of the nation’s fiber infrastructure. Data Center.BZ, located in Columbus, Ohio, does both according to Agile’sChief Technology Officer Kyle Quillen, one of the company’s founders.

“Ohio has some truly world class data centers, so we were blessed with a number of options as we worked this past year to cement the network core.  As time went on, it became clear that DataCenter.BZ would serve The Agile Network and its clients the best,” said Quillen. “We couldn’t be happier with our decision as we’ve been turning on the network in our initial markets.”

Executives at DataCenter.BZ share Quillen’s enthusiasm. “We were thrilled to be chosen for this mission critical network,” said Gordon Scherer, president of DataCenter.BZ. “It’s truly amazing what some of our clients do, their inventiveness and innovation. This project that Agile Networks has undertaken is a game-changer. It may very well change the metrics we use to define successful data infrastructure for the 21st century.”

DataCenter.BZ sits on a national fiber crossroads of key internet routes running both east-to-west and north-to-south. Theyoffer cross-connects to over 20 Carriers hosted on-premise with diverse fiber feeds from each Carrier as well as direct access to the CFN network—the Columbus metro area’s primary Carrier/municipal/commercial fiber conduit system—which also crosses the property.

“Because of the depth of their distribution, we can bring the edge of the Internet to pretty much anywhere in the state,” says Quillen. “That’s what our enterprise clients need.”

A large part of Agile’s focus is on enterprise clients in the public and private sector. These organizations are moving into advanced cloud services, and many are starting the migration into virtual servers with virtual desktops coming next. “We deliver guaranteed service level connectivity to enterprise accounts who simply can’t experience downtime. With DataCenter.BZ as part of our corenetwork design, our clients will get the reliability, security and customization they expect,” says Quillen.
