[Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, November 29, 2012]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has been awarded the LTE Innovation of the Year, Core Network Vendor of the Year and Wireless Broadband Network Vendor of the Year awards at the 2012 Telecom Asia Readers’ Choice Awards.

Huawei received the LTE Innovation of the Year award for its introduction of its “No-Edge Networks” concept, which utilises various LTE, LTE-Advanced and innovative future-oriented technologies, including Huawei’s Coordinated Multipoint, Adaptive Inter Cell Interference Coordination, Advanced Receiver, Interference Rejection Combining and Turbo Equalizer, to realize ultra-broadband, zero-waiting, and ubiquitous connectivity. The net effect is an enhanced experience, bringing users the benefits of speed, quality and simplicity.

“User experience in mobile networks drives the pursuit of speed, quality, simplicity, freedom, and sharing. These dimensions of user experience exemplifies human nature.” Mr. Lim Chee Siong, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Strategy & Marketing, Huawei South Pacific said, “Huawei’s approach through ‘Connected Possibilities’ has resulted in the creation of industry leading innovations such as LTE, AAS and Atomcell. Winning this year’s Telecom Asia Readers’ Choice Awards demonstrates that our efforts and contributions towards mobile user experience have been recognised by the industry once again.”

Huawei’s strategy on core-network in strengthening and broadening its operator core business by providing future-proved convergent core network solutions has also enabled Huawei to nab the Core Network Vendor of the Year award. Huawei has realised software virtualization in network evolution into Cloud Core for CaaS (Capability as a Service), meeting customer requirements for smooth evolution from 2G,3G to 4G with its innovative EPC ( Evolved Packet Core) upon deployment.

Huawei’s third award, Wireless Broadband Network Vendor of the Year, was given in recognition of its two new MBB products – The ARU (Adaptive Radio Unit) and the AtomCell, which are part of its GigaSite suite of network equipment. As the industry’s highest capacity radio unit, capable of supporting gigabit throughput in one box, Huawei’s ARU complements a strategy of building solutions that are multi-standard, multi-spectrum and software defined. Integration of an adaptive antenna system and RF unit enable the Huawei ARU to simultaneously support beamforming and multi-sector networks, using the same space and antenna. This helps operators balance data traffic distribution in high-traffic or dense areas, without adding macro sites.

These three convergent are part of Huawei E2E solutions portfolio which includes E2E services to help operators perform network transformation and ensure business success, including business consulting & network consulting services.

The Readers’ Choice Awards are held annually to recognise the innovations and contributions to the industry of the top telecom vendors operating in Asia Pacific. Nominations were made in September by more than 50 analysts and service providers before voting was open to TelecomAsia online subscriber base of service providers.

Huawei was named Best Telecom Vendor of the Year, Wireless Network Vendor of the Year, and Broadband Network Vendor of the Year at the 4th Annual Telecom Asia 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards.
