Mankato, Minn. – Nov. 30, 2012 – HickoryTech (NASDAQ:HTCO, news, filings) announced today it is accepting entries for its My Life My Internet video contest. As a leading regional broadband provider, HickoryTech promotes broadband adoption and encourages students and educators to share their stories about why the Internet is important to their education and in their lives. The contest, which targets entries from the HickoryTech service area, requires video submissions that present ideas around how students and teachers connect, learn, recharge, study and socialize at school and at home using broadband Internet access.
HickoryTech will award contest winners a hand-held video camera and give five hand-held video cameras to the winner’s school. “The Internet is integrated into all of our lives and it’s especially important for today’s students and educators to have access to broadband services to explore new learning opportunities,” said Jennifer Spaude, director of Investor Relations and Marketing. “As a broadband leader, HickoryTech encourages students and educators to share their story and submit their video entry for a chance to win prizes in the My Life My Internet Video Contest.”
