Following on from the nominations at the World Communications Awards (WCA) earlier this month; TeliaSonera International Carrier has been shortlisted for a further two awards at the 2012 Capacity Awards.
The nominations are further reinforcement that TeliaSonera International Carrier is one of the major players in the industry. TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC) has been shortlisted in both the Best Global Wholesale Carrier category and the Best Pan-European Wholesale Carrier.
In its 8th year, the prestigious Capacity Awards recognize innovation, excellence and vision throughout the global wholesale telecoms marketplace focusing on contributions that have excelled in the use, development and deployment of carrier services in the past 12 months.
The nominations follow TeliaSonera International Carrier’s success earlier this year at the DWDM NGN Optical Networking Conference in Monaco where the company picked up the award for Best Global Optical Network. The Capacity awards are actually also on the same night as the WCA’s, so TeliaSonera International Carrier will have two separate teams – in London and Amsterdam respectively – looking to pick up awards across the board come November 13th.
Erik Hallberg, President of TeliaSonera International Carrier, said: “The 2012 Capacity Awards is a huge event and to be nominated in, not one, but, two separate categories is fantastic for TeliaSonera International Carrier. It has been a momentous 12 months for the company as a whole and to have our achievements recognized is great news. The fact that we could potentially win four awards in one evening would be an outstanding achievement for us”.
At the 2012 Capacity Awards TeliaSonera International Carrier has been shortlisted alongside: COLT, Interoute, and Orange in the Best Pan-European Wholesale Carrier category. In the Best Global Wholesale Carrier category TeliaSonera International Carrier will be against: AT&T Wholesale, NTT America, Orange, PCCW Global, Sprint, Telefonica, and TATA Communications. The winners will be announced on 13th November in Amsterdam.
