Akamai Boosts Asia Pacific Team with Senior Appointments

Expansion includes regional appointments in Services and Sales

Singapore – October 03, 2012 – Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKAM, news, filings), the leading cloud platform for helping enterprises provide secure, high-performing user experiences on any device, anywhere has made significant additions to its team in Asia-Pacific with the following senior appointments:

Alex Caro has been appointed Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, Services for Akamai’s Asia Pacific and Japan region. He is responsible for technical strategy and for all professional services teams across the region..

Previously, Alex served as corporate Chief Information Officer and was responsible for the development and operation of the infrastructure that supports Akamai’s corporate processes. Dr. Caro joined Akamai in 1999 as a Research Scientist to develop software technologies for Akamai’s globally distributed intelligent platform. He moves to Singapore from Akamai’s corporate headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Malcolm Rowe has been appointed Regional Vice President, Sales for South Asia. He is responsible for driving Akamai’s growth throughout the region, positioning the company as the leading force in making the Internet work better for business.

Malcolm joined the company in 2002 and has over twenty-five years of IT industry experience. Rowe manages the growth and retention of Akamai’s customer base in South Asia, including many of the world’s top brands, Fortune 1000 businesses, Web-centric companies and government agencies. He previously served as Director, Business Development at Akamai for Asia Pacific and Japan.

Akamai also recently announced the opening of offices in Taipei, Taiwan and Melbourne, Australia, as well as the recruitment of new country managers in Japan and Korea.
