– Charity Golf Tournament supports SungateKids’ mission to aid child abuse victims and their families
– More than 70 local and national companies participate
LITTLETON, Colo., Sept. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — tw telecom inc. (NASDAQ:TWTC, news, filings), a Douglas County-based national provider of voice, Internet and data networking solutions for businesses, today announced that the 2012 tw telecom Charity Invitational golf tournament raised $380,000 to benefit SungateKids. SungateKids is a Denver area-based non-profit children’s advocacy center for victims of child abuse and their families. 100% of the proceeds go directly to SungateKids.

The tw telecom Charity Invitational took place August 27th at the Country Club at Castle Pines in northern Douglas County. More than 70 companies and 192 golfers participated in this year’s event. The goal of the tournament was to raise awareness and money to fund the mission and work of SungateKids. tw telecom and its participating vendors have raised over $1 million at this tournament in the last three years.
SungateKids is a national leader in providing forensic interviews to child victims of crime. Victims of abuse are interviewed by trained forensic interviewers in a safe environment. SungateKids is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance and provides support services to victims and their families. The interviews conducted at SungateKids are instrumental in prosecuting perpetrators of abuse.
