Data centre provider named as finalist in ‘Energy’ category for setting accountable efficiency targets, implementing innovative design and demonstrating clear results.
TelecityGroup, Europe’s industry-leading provider of premium carrier-neutral data centres, has been named as a finalist in the ‘Energy’ category at the 2012 Green Business Awards, recognising its innovative energy management programme and ongoing commitment to minimise the environmental impact of its operations.
The Green Business awards, now in their sixth year, celebrate UK-based companies that demonstrate excellence in green practice, strategy and products. The ‘Energy’ category recognises organisations that are leading the way in developing cleaner energy or significantly reducing energy consumption.
TelecityGroup has been recognised for setting clear, accountable carbon targets; implementing design innovation – including the installation of an Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage system in its new Amsterdam data centre; and demonstrating clear results, such as becoming the first data centre provider to achieve recertification to the Carbon Trust Standard in the UK.
