New module offers flexible solution for QoS transport with integrated video processing and format conversion
STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Net Insight, a leading provider of efficient and scalable transport solutions for media, IP and broadcast networks, today at IBC 2012 introduces its new smart form-factor pluggable transceiver-based (SFP) Video Access Module, integrated into the company’s award-winning Nimbra MSR, which offers a cost-effective end-to-end media transport solution.
The multi-format Video Access Module for Net Insight’s Nimbra 600 series MSR equipped with intelligent SFPs, takes another step towards integrating more advanced video processing functionality into the company’s Nimbra 600 video transport platform. It also provides a flexible solution for Quality of Service (QoS) transport with integrated video processing and format conversion, and enables cost savings for customers.
Distinct benefits of the module include increased port density,higher flexibility and JPEG2000 compression, which provide low latency compression and quality of transport to contribution networks, as well as SMPTE2022 ASI over IP transport, analog/digital and optical/electrical conversion, and HDMI/DVI conversion.
The system also offers Hitless 1+1 protection, which is a value added functionality for both Net Insight’s Nimbra 300 and 600 series of MSRs, involving hitless protection of video and Ethernet services within a Nimbra MSR network.
