Houston (Sept. 10, 2012) –Global data center providerCyrusOne invites the executive leadership and information technology ranks of Fortune 1000 enterprises to see its 670,000-square-foot Carrollton, Texas, facility at an official grand-opening event Thursday, Sept. 20. The largest data center in the state and one of the most energy-efficient in the United States, the event at the world-class site plans to showcase industry-leading facility design and technologies as well as gravity-defying entertainment from acrobatic performers.
“I’ve talked before about the efficiencies and customer benefits that our ‘Massively Modular’ approach offers in terms of speed to market and just-in-time inventory,” said Gary Wojtaszek, president, CyrusOne. “And I’ve provided context around the size and scale of Carrollton in terms of football fields, space shuttles, airplanes, and the Washington Monument. The format of our open-house event demonstrates again, the size and scale we are working with, literally offering enough airspace to serve as the sky for a high-flying spectacular acrobatic show.”
Based on CyrusOne’s “Massively Modular” design philosophy, the completed facility will deliver 400,000 square feet of raised-floor data center space and approximately 60,000 square feet of class A office. The company announced in August the first 47,000 square feet of space has been commissioned at the site.
Carrollton is also designed to deliver 60 megawatts of power capacity and a power usage effectiveness (PUE) expected to be the best in the Texas data center market. CyrusOne submitted credits for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification in July, with the award of the certification expected in September.
