Sprint Announces Dates, New Location and Opens Registration for the 2012 Open Solutions Conference

Annual Sprint conference to be held Oct. 24-25 in San Jose, Calif.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (BUSINESS WIRE), July 31, 2012 – Sprint (NYSE:S, news, filings) announced today that the 12th annual Sprint Open Solutions Conference will be held Oct. 24-25 at the San Jose, Calif., Convention Center. Registration is now open for the conference at http://developer.sprint.com/OSC2012.

The Sprint Open Solutions Conference is a fundamental component of Sprint’s open strategy and a forum for connecting developers and service providers with Sprint capabilities and those of our enabling partners. Sprint exposes platform and network capabilities across a range of devices that developers can take advantage of in the services they create for consumer, business and machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions, and Sprint offers go-to-market services that aid discoverability and help developers better monetize their applications.

“With more than 88 percent of adults owning a smartphone,* they are expecting the device and applications to do more than just entertain or inform them,” said Kevin McGinnis, vice president-Product, Sprint. “Consumers are using their devices for financial transactions, home security, in the workforce and much more. At the Sprint Open Solutions Conference, we want to give developers access to industry experts and showcase the robust tools and resources Sprint has available to help them create and bring to market innovative applications and solutions.”

Throughout the two-day conference, developers will get an up close view into the latest tools and capabilities from Sprint and Sprint’s solution enablement partners. Additional topics include new go-to-market services and strategies, 4G LTE network and device technologies, network optimization best-practices, and Sprint’s mobile commerce, cloud and M2M strategies.

Key elements of the Open Solutions Conference include:

  • Keynote presentations and panel discussions with visionary industry leaders– audience Q&A sessions during presentations and panels.
  • Tradeshow floor exhibits– see capabilities from Sprint partners who can help you take solutions to market.
  • Breakout sessions– learn about Sprint’s go-to-market solutions and participate in hands-on coding sessions from partners.
  • Get connected – business critical networking opportunities for developers, start-ups and business attendees.

The registration cost is $175 for developers who register by Aug. 31. The cost increases to $350 beginning Sept. 1. Developers can register and find additional information about the Open Solutions Conference at http://developer.sprint.com/OSC2012.
