Global payment processing company becomes first customer announced in TelecityGroup’s state-of-the art Powergate extension
PAY.ON, a global payment and risk management processor for payment providers, has selected TelecityGroup’s state-of-the-art Powergate facility in London as its primary data centre. By moving into TelecityGroup’s highly-connected facility, PAY.ON is maximising business growth opportunities by ensuring its infrastructure has access to the widest choice of international networks to serve customers across the world, including international markets in the North America, South America and Asia regions.
Based in Munich, PAY.ON provides web-based payment infrastructure services for payment providers. With online payments increasing exponentially around the world, PAY.ON has enjoyed 80 percent annual transaction growth over last five years – in 2012 its products will handle over eight billion euros worth of e-commerce transactions. By locating its primary infrastructure in TelecityGroup’s premium environment, PAY.ON is ensuring it can maximise the availability of its services, and guarantee the stringent security and low latency which is required to maintain this ongoing growth with customers across the globe.
As both its white-labelled PaySourcing™ and PayPipe™ products must be Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant to guarantee the secure handling of payments, TelecityGroup’s PCI DSS accreditation was crucial for PAY.ON. All of TelecityGroup’s UK data centres – including Powergate – are compliant to a range of key industry standards including PCI DSS and ISO 27001:2005 for security management.
PAY.ON was one of the first new customers in the 10,000 square metre extension of the Powergate complex in central London. The extension is being brought online in stages, and will eventually increase total customer capacity at the facility to 29 megawatts (MW).
Christian Bamberger, CIO PAY.ON says: “In order to maintain the company’s growth, we needed to move our IT infrastructure into a highly-connected environment which could provide low latency peering options across Europe as well as to the undersea cable routes into North America, South America and Asia. TelecityGroup’s carrier-neutral Powergate data centre was clearly the ideal option for us, especially because we are able to connect locally to some of our key partners and customers which are also present in the facility. We now have the flexibility and choice of connectivity to maximise the service we can provide to our customers in every global market. Additionally, the premium customer service provided by TelecityGroup is extremely important for us to be able to run such critical services, enabling us to maximise reliability and availability.”
Adriaan Oosthoek, Managing Director, TelecityGroup UK says: “The continued growth of e-commerce and online payments means the volume global payment transactions are constantly growing, as is the demands on payment service providers and acquirers. PAY.ON is a well-known expert in this fast and globally expanding market, providing the underlying technology so that payment providers can fully focus on their core business. We’re delighted that PAY.ON has become one of the first new customers in our state-of-the-art Powergate extension, and recognised how Powergate provides unrivalled connectivity options, in addition to the most secure and resilient environment to support the company’s continued growth.”
