The flexible and scalable 1Gbps native Carrier Ethernet demarcation unit supports optional DS1/E1, DS3/E3, SONET/SDH network facing interface modules, dramatically simplifying the operational complexities associated with providing a ubiquitous Ethernet service offering over multiple access media.

The Overture 4800 is a powerful yet cost-effective 10Gbps optical Carrier Ethernet platform supporting 10GbE service demarcation, 1GbE and 10GbE service aggregation, linear and ring topologies, and wholesale E-Access service demarcation. With its versatile, forward-looking architecture, it is ideally suited for a wide array of applications and settings, including Enterprise-grade business services and mobile backhaul.

“Fueled by the convergence of high-performance services and applications with rapidly growing numbers of connected users and devices worldwide, service providers and network operators are seeking for creative, unconventional solutions for breaking the broadband bottleneck and streamlining their operations.  Overture’s Carrier Ethernet platforms offer a smarter and simpler way to meet spiking demand while holding the line on per-Mbps costs,” said Jeff Reedy, CEO, Overture. “We are very pleased that Overture’s innovative Carrier Ethernet platforms have attracted the notice of the 2012 IIR Carrier Ethernet Awards judges, and wish our fellow competitors the best of luck in the final round of judging.”
