BTI Systems Signs New Resellers and Drives Mobile Backhaul Growth in the Caribbean and Latin America

MIAMI, FL – July 23, 2012

BTI Systems, the global leader redefining service delivery for metro network operators, today announced that the Company continues its momentum in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region by adding new resellers and increasing sales, particularly in solutions for Mobile Backhaul. The announcement was made at the 28th Annual CANTO Conference, being held in Miami, Florida.

The new resellers include Sonitel S.A., based in Panama, which provides information technology to corporations and enterprises in Central America. They specialize in networking, datacenter, infoware and access solutions with a staff of professionals who provide IT solutions to meet a broad range of requirements. Sonitel has more than 30% of the network market in Central America and more than 20% of the datacenter market. Sonitel will be selling all of BTI’s solutions to service providers, financial services and government agencies.

“Our mission is to provide real solutions to real problems and to help clients leverage existing equipment,” said Julio Spiegel, President at Sonitel S.A. “We only partner with industry leaders who are committed to our region, and BTI Systems has strong ties to service providers in Central America, an excellent reputation and a long-standing history of providing top-notch service. Partnering with BTI will help us to expand our penetration in the very fast-growing region.”

DIEXTRA covers the Dominican Republic, and provides telecommunications service providers with a breadth of solutions and seasoned technical expertise. DIEXTRA chose BTI Systems based on the Company’s solid reputation and the strength of BTI’s Mobile Backhaul, Metro Packet Optical and Ethernet Business Services solutions.

“We provide comprehensive telecommunications and IT solutions and consulting services to customers in the telecom, finance, manufacturing and hospitality industries,” said Jose Diaz, President at DIEXTRA. “Mobile penetration in the Dominican Republic is very significant and we want to offer the most advanced solutions to ensure our customers can compete successfully. BTI’s solutions integrate well with this goal, and their strong presence in our region with telecom operators has made this a win-win situation.”

Data from TeleGeography’s Global Comms Insight Research estimates that telecom service revenue in Latin America and the Caribbean will grow to $143 billion by 2014, led by the wireless sector and driven by wireless and broadband subscriber demands.

“BTI’s growth with Mobile Backhaul deployments reflects global momentum – we recently announced an increase of more than 85% of new Mobile Backhaul customers across North America and APAC,” said Peter Dale, Vice President of Sales, Americas at BTI Systems. “This demand reflects the strong requirements by metro service providers to keep pace with escalating customer adoption of mobile content. We were the first with a solution that supports widespread 3G and 4G deployments in metro and regional networks by providing an end-to-end, unified packet approach for voice, data and multimedia services with comprehensive service management. We look forward to working closely with Sonitel and DIEXTRA to increase Mobile Backhaul and Ethernet Services market penetration in the CALA region.”
