TelecityGroup wins prestigious European Award for Colocation at Data Centre Europe Awards 2012

Industry-leading management team continues to be recognised as COO Rob Coupland also picks up European CxO Award

TelecityGroup, Europe's industry-leading provider of premium carrier-neutral data centres, has been named winner of the European Award for Colocation at the 5th annual Data Centre Europe Awards. TelecityGroup COO Rob Coupland was also presented with the European CxO Award at the award ceremony in London last night.

The Data Centre Europe Awards look to distinguish excellence in the European data centre and cloud market, and the European Award for Colocation specifically recognises outstanding carrier-neutral colocation providers. TelecityGroup was recognised by the judges for its continued environmental leadership and highly-targeted capacity expansion programme across Europe.

Rob Coupland COO was also recognised with the European CxO Award in recognition of his role overseeing the design and delivery of TelecityGroup's European expansion programme, and ensuring that energy efficiency and operational excellence have been woven into the fabric of the company. Rob has also been instrumental in helping the company to develop and strengthen its integrated quality management systems, enabling TelecityGroup to achieve ISO and related certifications across the company.

Philip Low, Chief Executive of BroadGroup said: "TelecityGroup was awarded the European Award for Colocation due to the combination of its customer engagement, bespoke solutions, high standard of data centres and testimonials from across Europe that testify to their quality of its service. Additionally, Rob Coupland's proven track-record of industry achievements means that he was a stand-out choice for the European CxO Award in what was a strong field of contenders. He has played a key role in designing and delivering a significant expansion programme across Europe which will increase TelecityGroup's customer power to 124MW over the next four years, in addition to demonstrating the data centre industry's critical role in mitigating carbon use by driving best practices in energy efficiency."

Michael Tobin, CEO of TelecityGroup said: "We are delighted to win the prestigious European Award for Colocation – it is recognition for the quality of service we provide and the on-going hard work of everyone at TelecityGroup. Rob Coupland's award is also extremely well deserved; he has played a critical role for the company ensuring operational excellence and environmental best practice is delivered across the business and, in particular, has been instrumental in the overall management and delivery of our European expansion programme. This achievement demonstrates continued recognition of the strength of TelecityGroup's industry-leading management team, and follows on from the recent awards won by our Group Finance Director Brian McArthur-Muscroft and Group Financial Controller Brad Petzer at the FD Excellence Awards, and Maurice Mortell, MD of TelecityGroup Ireland at the ICT Excellence Awards."
