Colt, Europe’s leading information platform, today announced the appointment of Victor Smith as Product Director at Colt Data Centre Services. In this new role, Victor will be responsible for strengthening Colt’s data centre product and services strategy as Colt extends their leadership in designing and deploying scalable data centres globally.
Victor has over 25 years’ experience in the computer industry and joins Colt following a successful career at Dell Inc. as Senior Manager of Global Product Development. Victor’s wealth of technical and commercial experience in the global data centre market will underpin Colt’s expansion plans as they build on their recent modular data centre successes and develop new customers, regions and markets.

Smith is a Fellow of the BCS – The Chartered Institute for IT in the UK and is Vice Chair of the BCS Data Centre Group. He is an active participant in the EMEA Technical Group at The Green Grid, a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems. Smith has worked closely with the EU in the creation of the code of Conduct for Data Centres and with various country/EMEA-wide groups for Data Centre energy efficiency and legislation.
