Alcatel-Lucent wins Frost and Sullivan’s “Asia Pacific Optical Vendor the Year” Award for 2012

Alcatel-Lucent tops the market for 100G optical technology and aims to further build on its 69 percent* share in the Asia-Pacific region through unrivalled optics technology and customer support capabilities

Singapore, June 7, 2012 – Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) announced today it has been crowned “Asia Pacific Optical Vendor of the Year” at the external link2012 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards ceremony in Singapore.This is the fourth time Alcatel-Lucent won the award fromthis leading business research & consulting firm since 2008.

  • March 2012: Announced 100G solution – powered by the industry’s-first 400G chip, the Photonic Service Engine (PSE) – which offers a more than 50 percent performance enhancement over existing solutions, and a clear evolution path to 400G.
  • December 2011: Launched 100G eXtended Reach (XR) with 30 percent performance improvement.
  • 2011: Integrated Zero Touch Photonics with Optical Transport Networks (OTN). Alcatel-Lucent was the first vendor to support smooth migration from T-MPLS to MPLS-TP.
  • 2010: Launched the industry-first single-carrier 100G coherent solution.
  • 2008: Debuted Zero Touch Photonics; Added T-MPLS capability to PTN.
