PHOENIX, May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — IO, the leading provider of next-generation modular data center technology and services, announced today that the company has been awarded a contract by Merchant Partners Inc., an industry leader in internet-based credit card processing and electronic check processing (ACH) for internet, mail order/phone order, and brick and mortar retail businesses.
As part of the agreement, IO will provide Merchant Partners with Data Center as a Service (DCaaS™) delivered out of the IO Phoenix data center. This approach supplies Merchant Partners a high-performance, cost-effective enterprise solution – without having to invest resources in building and maintaining its own data center.
“Our business is expanding and we needed a secondary data center for disaster recovery in a safe, secure location,” said John Wall, CEO, Merchant Partners Inc., which is based in Redmond, Wash. “We have learned from our business of supporting real-time financial transactions that not all data centers are created equal. The advanced technology in IO’s DCaaS is engineered for resiliency and meets our high service level objective required to make internet-based transactions reliable, secure and scalable for thousands of merchants.”
IO Phoenix is the largest commercially available data center in the United States to achieve Uptime Institute Tier III Design Certification, which has emerged as the premium level of service for commercial data centers. At IO Phoenix, organizations can use DCaaS to support cloud computing, high-availability applications, business continuity/disaster recovery, data center consolidation and other strategic technology initiatives.
