Sprint to Deliver Innovation with Wholesale Cloud Services, Enabling Resellers to Quickly Deliver Simple, Affordable Software Services to SMBs

Sprint Wholesale Cloud Services provides an alternative approach for Wholesale Customers looking to offer a complete solution for SMBs more quickly and at a reduced cost than if they were to build it themselves

COMPTEL PLUS 2012 booth offers detailed information on multi-vendor services combined into one business solution, accessible from just about anywhere, along with information on new Full Service Enablement Model for MVNOs

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (BUSINESS WIRE), April 16, 2012 – According to industry analyst firm IDC, worldwide public IT cloud services revenue is projected to hit $45.5 billion by 20131. With about one-fifth of both small and midsize businesses (SMBs) surveyed by IDC considering increased use of cloud capabilities to be a top technology spending priority2, Sprint (NYSE:S, news, filings) Wholesale and Emerging Solutions today announced the availability of Wholesale Cloud Services later this year. Sprint Wholesale Cloud Services provides SMB-focused resellers an innovative approach by offering a unique combination of platform services, a full suite of enablement applications and one-on-one support from experienced and dedicated experts to help them launch more quickly and with less capital outlay than if they were to create the service themselves.

Taking multi-vendor hosted software services bundled with a robust software delivery platform and packaging both into a single business solution, the Sprint Wholesale Cloud Services portfolio will become a one-stop shop aimed at increasing revenues for Wholesale customers, while delivering cost savings and efficient access to enterprise-grade applications for their SMB customer base. Sprint Wholesale Cloud Services will be available to any SMB-focused reseller – even if they are not a Sprint Wholesale customer today – that wishes to quickly offer cloud solutions to their SMB customers without building it themselves.

“Sprint Wholesale Cloud Services enable Wholesale partners and their customers to get to market faster by reducing the number of contracts they are required to manage and aggregating all of the software offerings through a single Web interface,” said Ben Vos, vice president, Wholesale Business Operations – Sprint. “We’ve minimized the initial capital expenditure required to enter the Cloud Services marketplace, allowing our clients to service their SMB customers with top-tier software solutions, without breaking the bank.”

Sprint Wholesale Cloud Services Information available at COMPTEL PLUS 2012

Sprint will be sharing detailed information on the functionality of Wholesale Cloud Services in booth 601 during COMPTEL PLUS Spring 2012 Convention & Expo, April 15-18 in San Francisco. In addition to Wholesale Cloud Services, the Sprint Wholesale and Emerging Solutions team will also have information on the new Full Service Enablement Model for MVNOs. Anticipating availability later this year, this solution provides MVNOs a complete Sprint-supported enablement package, allowing MVNOs to focus on growing their business through core sales and marketing.

Reselling a Wide Range of Cloud Services to Help SMBs Grow

The Sprint Wholesale Cloud Portfolio offers a full range of Cloud services consisting of trusted brand name offerings that are often expensive and inefficient for SMBs to procure directly. The Sprint Wholesale Cloud Services portfolio consists of both Software as a Service (SaaS) and Communications as a Service (CaaS) solutions intended to help SMBs grow their business. SMBs can take advantage of SaaS product offerings to increase efficiency in the areas of business process, archiving, Web commerce and security. Sprint’s CaaS portfolio offers access to many of today’s preferred communications enablement software solutions.

Sprint Wholesale Cloud Services enable partners to deliver, under their own brand, on-demand access to computing services and storage resources to SMBs. Customers are looking to procure services, not assets, and Sprint delivers services when and where customers need them most, paying only for what they use. This new offering may allow resellers and their SMB customers to improve sales and compete more effectively by delivering increased flexibility and anytime access to bundled solutions that enable customers to deliver an enhanced portfolio of services. Customers with an existing Cloud portfolio can even select core services to help complete their current Cloud offering.

Leading Through Innovation

Sprint Wholesale and Emerging Solutions has partnered with New Ventures, a new Sprint business unit closely aligned with Sprint’s Product, Marketing and Sales teams to focus on unlocking new possibilities for Wholesale customers and empowering them with value-added opportunities from Sprint’s existing portfolio and new sources. With a focus on open architecture, New Ventures’ goal is to deliver services that help carriers around the world create stickiness with their customers while growing revenue.

The award-winning Sprint’s Wholesale & Emerging Solutions Group has a full suite of customizable solutions, including Global MPLS, which offers a flexible and scalable network foundation that enables customers to move to next-generation technologies, such as Fixed Mobile Convergence or Unified Communications and Mobile Broadband on Demand, enabling end users to purchase prepaid broadband by the day, week or month. Also available to Sprint Wholesale Solutions Group customers is access to reselling 4G, with faster download speeds and more bandwidth. Customers can choose from two very easy ways to deliver an MVNO wireless offering to market – Traditional Wireless Resale and Turnkey Back-office Wireless Resale. Visit the newly redesigned sprint.com/wholesale to view the complete product portfolio, customer testimonials and white paper downloads.
