ATLANTA – April 24, 2012 ─ Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ:INAP, news, filings), a provider of intelligent IT Infrastructure services, today announced that it has been named to Forbes’s list of America’s Most Trustworthy Companies, in the small-cap category. Now in its fifth year, the list identifies 100 organizations publicly traded on U.S. exchanges – from an initial group of more than 8,000 – that have consistently demonstrated transparent and conservative accounting practices and solid corporate governance and management.
GMI Ratings (GMI), a corporate governance research and rating agency, assisted Forbes with the selection process by providing quantitative and qualitative assessments of corporate accounting and management practices. Every three months, GMI assigned each company an accounting and governance risk (AGR) score, based on a proprietary model designed to identify practices that have historically had a high correlation with increased shareholder risk.
The 100 companies named were required to have: an AGR rating of “conservative” or “average” during the last four quarters; a market cap of at least $250 million; and no amended filings, enforcement actions or material restatements with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The companies named to the list, were also required to rate highly in GMI’s Equity Risk Ranking, which indicates a positive forecast for equity returns, and have minimal likelihood of financial distress, as measured by GMI’s Bankruptcy Risk Model.
