Huawei Sponsors Atlético de Madrid in its Match against Real Madrid

Football sponsorship celebrates Huawei’s 10 years in Spain and the growth of its global consumer brand

[Madrid, April 9, 2012]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced its sponsorship of the Atlético de Madrid football club in their match against Real Madrid on April 11th at the Vicente Calderón Stadium. This agreement marks the first sports sponsorship for Huawei in Western Europe, and supports the brand’s goal to connect with consumers globally as it celebrates 10 years of operation in Spain.

The Atlético de Madrid football club is one of Spain’s most well-known and best-loved teams. With 637 fan clubs throughout Spain and 27 fan clubs other countries throughout the world, Atlético de Madrid won the Europa League in 2010 and the UEFA Super Cup in 2010. The match against Real Madrid on April 11 will be broadcast throughout Europe, the UK, Middle East, Africa, Japan, China, the USA, and South America.
