Phoenix NAP Selects Interxion for European Node Location

AMSTERDAM – 12 March 2012 – Interxion HOLDING NV (NYSE:INXN, news), a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, today announced that Phoenix NAP®, a full service data centre, premier infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider and primary network access point (NAP), has chosen Interxion to house Phoenix NAP’s new European node in Amsterdam. The node should be completed during the second quarter of 2012. Phoenix NAP cited the data centre’s geographical location, number of carriers and competitive pricing in its decision selecting Interxion.

“We are thrilled with our decision to go with Interxion,” said Ian McClarty, president of Phoenix NAP. “Its strong brand recognition and world-class facility are in line with Phoenix NAP in terms of providing flexible, cost effective solutions whilst maintaining the highest level of security systems. We look forward to building a strong relationship with the data centre.”

Initially, Phoenix NAP will be offering its public cloud solution, Secured Cloud, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) product line, Secured Servers, out of Interxion. The company is also open to the possibility of offering partial and full colocation racks as their relationship and demand in the area grows.

“We are very happy Phoenix NAP chose our Amsterdam data centre for its new European node”, said Michel van den Assem, Managing Director of Interxion Netherlands. “By providing high quality and scalable data centre services, we provide a strong foundation in support of Phoenix NAP’s European growth ambitions. With this initial contract in Amsterdam, Phoenix NAP has further access to high-quality data centre infrastructures across Interxion’s 11 European markets via a one-stop-shop solution. This allows the company to quickly respond to potential new market opportunities and address the growing demand for IaaS solutions from enterprise customers in search of elastic computing resources with predictable performance and costs.”

“Phoenix NAP wanted to research and examine premier facilities in rapid growth markets, and we believe Interxion, out of the formal RFP process we conducted, can effectively and efficiently meet our needs and overall vision,” added McClarty. “It is definitely an exciting time for Phoenix NAP, as we venture out on our first expansion overseas, and we are looking forward to what the future will bring.”

Phoenix NAP is a PCI DSS Validated Service Provider and a SOC Type 2 audited facility.
