Jaguar Land Rover selects Colt Data Centre for Advanced Manufacturing Plant

Colt plans to deliver a customised data centre within just four months

LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–

Colt, Europe’s leading information delivery platform, today announced that luxury car manufacturer, Jaguar Land Rover has selected Colt’s data centre for its Solihull advanced manufacturing plant in the UK. Jaguar Land Rover will migrate its existing on-site IT facilities to a new purpose-built data centre at the plant, featuring a data centre from Colt. In the first deployment of Colt’s modular data centre by a major manufacturer, the new data centre is planned to be delivered within just four months and fully operational in the first half of 2012.

The Colt modular data centre will be pre-configured with racks and cold aisle containment before handover to ensure timely delivery. Colt’s modular data centre design is ISO27001 certified, providing Jaguar Land Rover with the confidence that its information is fully protected, and has a design Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.21, much lower than other conventional data centre builds.
