Intelbras Announces Details of Cisco Unified Communications Offering in Brazil

The Cisco Business Edition 3000 (BE3000) will be sold by Intelbras under the name CIP60300. The equipment, which serves as a platform for the Intelbras Unified Communications product offering , is part of the strategy to achieve leadership of the IP telephony market in the mid-size company segment

SÃO PAULO, Brazil, March 5, 2012 – After announcing an agreement to encourage small and medium-size companies in Brazil to migrate towards IP telephony, Intelbras and Cisco are now presenting the offering as part of a unified communications solution. The solution, designed for the Brazilian market, features the Cisco® Business Edition 3000 (BE3000) and licenses Cisco Unified Communications technology for specific Intelbras IP telephones and voice gateways. The complete solution will be marketed through the Intelbras integrator channel in Brazil.

Cisco Business Edition 3000 (BE3000) will be sold in Brazil by Intelbras as the CIP60300 and is scheduled to be on sale from April 2012. This unified communication solution built for companies from 50 to 300 users, it integrates voice, video, mobility, messaging, conferencing and voice gateway services at multiple locations.  Additionally, the system is easy to deploy, manage and use, reducing the total cost of ownership and offering a smooth transition from a traditional telephone system to  modern unified communications. The  new CIP60300 solution also provides Digital E1 trunking interfaces for connection to conventional fixed-line telephone operators and the ability to interconnect with VoIP operators using SIP trunking connections.

To match the offering for the Brazilian unified communications market, Intelbras developed a set of IP endpoints that complement and integrate with the solution: an IP phone model TIP100-S will also be available to be used in conjunction with the Cisco Unified Communications technology. The IP terminal options also include the Cisco Unified SIP Phone 3900 Series and Unified IP Phone 6900 and 8900 Series. For companies using legacy telephone systems looking to migrate transparently to IP technology using existing infrastructure, Intelbras has developed the InfinityExtension voice gateway, a hybrid solution which protects clients’ previous investments in analog telephones.

Expanding the possibilities of interconnection the Cisco and Intelbras offering also includes an 8-channel FXO gateway for analog trunk connections with conventional service providers and an 8-channel GSM Gateway for connection to mobile operators. Notably, the solution is entirely based on IP network protocol, the result of technological integration of both companies.

According to Marcelo Fogaça, general manager of the Intelbras corporate solutions unit, the strategic Cisco and Intelbras agreement has resulted in a complete unified communications solution for Brazil’s small and mid-sized business market. “The offering also can be easily adapted to meet the most stringent requirements in terms of IP technology. Meanwhile it presents a very wide range of components to support a smooth transition from legacy systems without forcing clients to make major investments,” he explained.

Cleber Giorgetti, sales business development manager for Midsize Companies in Cisco Brazil, says the agreement has made solutions more accessible to small and medium-size companies.  “We have brought together Cisco’s globally recognized technology with Intelbras’ understanding of the market for smaller companies in Brazil, and together we will reach out to most small and medium-size companies in Brazil through the deep network of Intelbras’ integrators.”
