Huawei Showcases Diversified Range of Wireless Modules and Solutions to Establish Itself as Partner of Choice for CE/M2M

[Hanover, Germany, March 8, 2012]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider is exhibiting its diversified wireless module and solutions at CeBIT, one of the largest technology trade shows. From consumer electronics (CE) modules and M2M modules to smart metering communication hub, Huawei is showcasing its strength in the field of wireless terminals, as well as its entry into the M2M solutions field.

The consumer electronics modules exhibited by Huawei include the world’s slimmest and most compact modules – the MU733 and MU739 modules which were unveiled at the recent Mobile World Congress (MWC) – as well as the EM820W which incorporates GPS functionality. These three modules support the HSPA+ network with a download speed up to 21 Mbps, satisfying consumer demand for high speed surfing. The MU733 and MU739 modules both support UMTS 5- band global roaming and are slimmer and smaller compared with HSPA+ modules on the market, while consuming less power and emitting less heat. The MU733 and MU739 modules will be incorporated into a wide range of PC and CE products, including notebooks, smart phones, tablet computers, e-books, navigation devices, and PDAs.

In addition, Huawei is showcasing its M2M modules, MU509 and MG323-B, which are aimed at a broad range of industries.

The smart metering communication hub is geared towards smart energy management solutions, consolidating energy metering equipment into a single energy management platform through the deployment of an electric hub in homes and small businesses. This allows for access to real-time energy information, time of use (TOU) management, energy price package management, and management of energy equipment upgrades and warnings. In addition to managing electricity, water, and heat meters, the smart metering communication hub can be used to manage domestic electronic appliances such as air-conditioning systems and refrigerators in future, playing a crucial role in achieving smart energy management as well as the reduction of carbon emissions.

As a global leader in the field of mobile broadband terminals, Huawei is poised to capitalize on the huge market potential for wireless modules and solutions. Huawei is collaborating closely with industry partners in the field of consumer electronics, and has started to deliver competitive solutions in the M2M field, especially for the smart metering and telematics industries. “Huawei is determined to become the industry’s partner of choice for CE/M2M, and will work with our partners to build a smarter planet,” said Liu Xiaobin, Vice President of Huawei Device’s mobile broadband product line.

Huawei’s booth is located at Hall 13, Booth C23 and its custom-built Container Data Centre is located at the open-air sites outside Halls 12 and 13. CeBIT is held from March 6 to 10, 2012, in Hanover, Germany. For more information on Huawei’s participation and events, please visit http://www.huawei.com/minisite/cebit2012/index.html.
