[Beijing, China, 26 March, 2012]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced the launch of its digital energy solution at the 12th China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (“CIPPE”), the world’s largest petroleum exhibition. At the exhibition, Huawei’s Enterprise Business Group will be showcasing how its ICT solutions provide “A Better Way” to meet the specific needs of energy enterprises to enhance productivity and accelerate informationization.
Leveraging its comprehensive portfolio covering IP network, unified communications and collaboration, cloud computing and data center, Huawei Enterprise has developed a series of innovative solutions and services to facilitate energy companies in areas including exploration, exploitation, transportation and management. The new “digital energy” solution includes four major components – digital oil field, intelligent pipeline, integrated security and oil field converged communications. It also provides some sub-solutions for desktop cloud, data center, HD video conferencing system, campus network and undersea optical network to help customers ensure production security, enhance efficiency and improve office conditions with cutting-edge technologies.
Speaking at the CIPPE event on the “Application of the ICT Technologies in the Oil Industry”, Mr. Deng Yi, AVP of Huawei Enterprise’s Business Development Department, shared with customers and partners Huawei Enterprise’s commitment to developing innovative solutions that address the unique challenges faced by energy companies due to their complex production environment and geographic dispersion. Huawei’s leading digital energy solution is currently being used in many projects by large enterprises, including China Petroleum, China Petrochemical Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Mexico Pemex, Saudi Aramco, Petrobras and the Kazakhstan Section of the Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline.
The solution helps customers build network communications infrastructure, remote production monitoring systems, data centers and production management, and office application systems. It is also able to manage long-distance gas pipelines, ensuring the smooth operation of important functions, such as seamless communication, emergency dispatch and safety testing. Focusing on enhancing user experience and improving communication efficiency, the solution provides oil field-wide converged communication services, which integrate voice, video and data to support secure access of terminals at anytime and anywhere.
