Connect Portfolio is a Comprehensive Suite of Connectivity Options Helping Telx Colocation Customers Expand Presence and Market Reach across 17 C3 Cloud Connection Centers
New York, NY (February 28, 2011) – Telx® today launched the Connect Portfolio, a simplified, comprehensive family of scalable interconnection service options for quickly establishing data center, IT, cloud or point of presence (PoP) colocation infrastructures. The Connect Portfolio gives customers unprecedented connectivity choice in all 17 C3 Cloud Connection Centers by TelxSM and provides robust services that adapt quickly to changing bandwidth needs.
“Telx’s interconnection services have helped our company expand our business model and explore new revenue opportunities. With the Connect Portfolio, Telx colocation customers can quickly and easily leverage their existing infrastructure to establish their own dynamic data center, IT, cloud infrastructure or point of presence,” said Kevin Coyne, president and chief operating officer of FiberLight. “Telx listened to the needs of their customer base and created the Connect Portfolio to offer the most choice in connectivity — from public or private networks — to help create, distribute, sell, store, exchange and consume mission-critical data.”
The Connect Portfolio provides connectivity options and purpose-built communities tailored to meet the needs of communications service providers, financial markets firms, enterprise data networks, carrier transport networks and cloud architectures. Organizations simply “mix and match” services from the Telx Connect Portfolio to seamlessly exchange services with other providers or enterprise networks. Additionally, the Connect Portfolio allows any business to reliably integrate legacy or new IT infrastructures for service extension, maximizing their investment in existing equipment and infrastructure. Options include:
- Dynamic Connect: Designed to deliver industry-leading network and technology harmonization with the most scalability; options include the award-winning EtherConnect (formerly Ethernet Exchange) and Video Conferencing Connect (formerly Video Exchange), and Carrier Connect (formerly Virtual Exchange). Telx has uniquely configured these platforms for seamless interworking that gives customer the ability to deliver seamless integrated solutions across interconnections in our C3 data centers. Customers are also able to support a progressive connectivity model appropriate to their business relationships.
- Direct Connect: A fully transparent and high-bandwidth solution delivering the most options available for ultra low latency connectivity. Through the use of Cross Connect, Direct Connect enables circuit interconnections of every physical media type through passive interconnection panels.
- IP Connect: A robust platform providing direct access to best-of-breed IP networks within Telx C3 data centers, via Telx Internet Exchange (TIE) and Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) products.
- Network Connect: With Network Connect, businesses can establish network nodes, data centers and infrastructure platforms across multiple locations—decreasing risk and enabling disaster recovery alternatives. Offerings include Metro Connect, a convenient way to connect between Telx C³ data centers and non-Telx centers located in the same geographical market area.
“Interconnection services are becoming ever more important as more enterprises leverage hosted, managed, or colocated services,” said Eric Hanselman, Research Director, Networks for 451 Research. “To maintain application performance, high quality data paths are critical. Denser interconnect facilities also have the benefit of bringing together a wider range of service providers, giving end customers choice and flexibility in application deployment.”
The Connect Portfolio is complemented by the CBX Online, an online community that gives customers a cost-free marketing or service discovery tool, in addition to traditional customer service portal capabilities. The portal’s primary objective is to put the value of the opportunities that lies within all 17 C3 data centers into the hands of colocation customers.
