Interconnection Leader Augments Leadership Team with Addition of Former Hewlett Packard Cloud Expert Joe Weinman and former Equinix Vertical Marketing Manager Ron Sterbenz
New York, NY (February 13, 2011) – Telx® today announced the addition of two industry veterans and notable thought leaders to the senior management team: Joe Weinman as senior vice president, cloud services and strategy; and Ron Sterbenz as vice president of marketing. The dynamic pair brings decades of data center, colocation and cloud computing strategy, as well as product development, marketing and operations achievements, to Telx’s team.
Joe Weinman will lead Telx’s fast-growing cloud services business development and strategy. Under his direction, Telx’s cloud services team will develop and bring to market innovative new cloud architectures, products and services for enterprise and service provider customers within Telx’s C3 Cloud Connection Centers. Named a “Top 10 Cloud Computing Leader” by TechTarget, Weinman is a frequent keynote speaker, blogger and the founder of Cloudonomics— a rigorous, multidisciplinary approach to valuing the cloud. Prior to joining Telx, Weinman held executive leadership positions at Hewlett Packard, AT&T and Bell Laboratories. Weinman brings a wealth of experience in corporate strategy and development, partnerships, alliances and R&D. He has been awarded 14 U.S. and international patents in diverse fields such as pseudoternary data communications, cloud services, consumer products, intelligent networks and distributed storage architectures. Weinman’s market insights have been showcased in numerous global broadcasts, print and online publications.
Ron Sterbenz will drive all facets of corporate and solutions marketing, including brand development, partnership strategies, public relations and strategic business development. Sterbenz brings over 15 years of industry experience and accomplishments in global marketing strategy and execution to his new position. At Equinix, he was responsible for building and executing the segment strategy for two of its largest verticals, Cloud & Managed Service Providers and Enterprise & Alliances. Prior to its acquisition by Equinix, Sterbenz built and executed the marketing strategy of Switch & Data’s financial services practice. Before Switch and Data, Sterbenz developed new industry leading financial products and market data solutions as Savvis’s director of financial product management. He holds an MBA, as well as bachelor degrees in finance from California State University and has served in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army as a Deep Sea Diver.
