Reliability, scalability and security cited as key reasons for Bluesocket selection as wireless solution
HUNTSVILLE, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Feb. 22, 2012– ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN, news, filings), a leading provider of next-generation networking solutions, today announced that attendees at the IDC Asian Financial Services Congress 2012 (AFSC), will rely on its Bluesocket virtual wireless LAN (vWLAN®) solution to access network services during the two-day summit running February 23 and 24 in Singapore. During this year’s AFSC, IDC Financial Insights will showcase a fresh line-up of solutions, including ADTRAN’s Bluesocket vWLAN.
ADTRAN’s Bluesocket vWLAN was selected because of its unique control plane which is both centralized and virtualized. Centralized user control and device management enables the deployment of consistent network security and network access policy across all access points. While the policies are set centrally, network security policies are actually enforced at the access point so unwanted traffic never enters the LAN. Centralized control brings ease of management while distributed enforcement brings the highest level of security.
Centralized control and management is made cost effective through virtualization. The solution in use at the conference will easily support the hundreds of exhibitors and conference participants even if each participant has multiple Wi-Fi enabled devices. vWLAN can scale up to support 48,000 users on the same platform used at the conference. To provide the ultimate level of reliability, vWLAN at the conference will be operating in High Availability mode with dual virtual control instances. Along with vWLAN, ADTRAN is providing the PoE LAN switches to power the access points as well as the necessary cabling, mounting, and support.
“ADTRAN’s Bluesocket virtual wireless LAN solution is a disruptive technology that enables enterprise customers to securely and cost-effectively scale up to support the multitude of devices demanding mobile wireless service,” said Brian Efimetz, General Manager Asia-Pacific ADTRAN. “The financial services industry, like many other data intensive markets, seeks innovations in security, scalability, and reliability from strong, stable companies. ADTRAN is pleased to partner with IDC on this key industry event in Asia.”
ADTRAN’s solutions will be on display in booth #29 during the conference. More information about the conference can be found at the IDC Asian Financial Services Congress 2012 website: http://www.ap.afscongress.com/2012/#home.
