Acme Packet chooses Digital China as a strategic distribution partner

Leading Chinese integrated IT services provider to offer session delivery network solutions to Chinese enterprises

BEDFORD, MA, AND BEIJING, CHINA, FEBRUARY 8, 2012Acme Packet® (NASDAQ: APKT), the leader in session delivery networks, and Digital China (SEHK: 0861), the largest integrated IT services provider in China, today announced that Digital China will serve as a key distribution channel and services partner for Acme Packet in the region. By including Acme Packet products and solutions in its portfolio, Digital China can now enable its customers to deliver secure, high-quality interactive communications services over IP, including cloud solutions, basic voice over IP (VoIP), and unified communications and collaboration (UC&C).

“We share Acme Packet’s vision of using first-class session border controllers (SBC) to enable full IP communications,” said Yu Zijian, Systems Technology Service SBU, vice president, Digital China. “By including Acme Packet in our product portfolio, we will be able to provide local resellers, system integrators, and service provider resellers with a secure, reliable network infrastructure for interactive multimedia communications.”

“We are excited to announce Digital China as our key distributer and services partner for China,” said Mark Vella, vice president, business development, Acme Packet. “Our session delivery network solutions combine industry-leading capabilities with support for Microsoft, Avaya, Huawei, and other unified communications (UC) offerings. We believe this will complement Digital China’s vision of building next-generation IP communication networks for their customers and boost distribution in the region.”

The rapid adoption of smartphones, high-speed broadband, UC&C, enterprise-class VoIP, and cloud solutions has been a driving force in the establishment and growth of Chinese enterprises. However, despite this adoption, many enterprises lack the secure, reliable, and interoperable network infrastructures critical to providing trusted, IP-based communication.

Digital China is the largest distribution company for leading technology in China. With Acme Packet’s session delivery network, Digital China will help customers integrate cloud solutions, presence-enabled voice, interactive video, instant messaging, and collaboration into their UC deployments. The advanced security capabilities in Acme Packet’s enterprise session border controllers are designed to allow Digital China’s customers to protect their network borders and save communication costs.
