QTS (Quality Technology Services), one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing providers of data center facilities and managed services, today announced that all of the company’s data centers previously certified by the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) audit program have successfully transitioned to Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16).
Individual, independent SSAE 16 Type II audits were performed at facilities in Atlanta, Ga.; Miami, Fla.; New York, NY; Jersey City, NJ; Overland Park, Kan. and Suwanee, Ga., as well as both data centers on QTS’ Santa Clara, Calif. campus for calendar year 2011. Issuance of SSAE 16 Type II Service Auditor’s Reports builds on QTS’ 29 previous SAS 70 Type II Service Auditor’s Reports issued in eight of the company’s coast-to-coast data centers over the past four years.
The company expects issuance of the SSAE 16 Service Auditor’s Reports for the QTS Richmond Data Center by March 1, 2012. As QTS’ newest location, the Richmond site was on a different audit calendar in 2011.
The transition to SSAE 16 exemplifies QTS’ commitment to risk management support, which ultimately benefits customers.
“QTS’ commitment to emerging and maturing assurance activities helps us respond to today’s growing risk management requirements,” said QTS customer Tai Chetram, vice president – internal audit and compliance – EasyLink Services International Corporation. “The migration from SAS 70 to SSAE 16 ensures EasyLink’s customers have continued access to relevant service auditor’s reports that pertain to QTS’ operations.”
“Our transition from the SAS 70 program to SSAE 16 is an evolution that mirrors the expanding assurance needs of QTS management, our customers and their external auditors,” said Darryl Cox, director of audit – QTS. “The transition to SSAE 16 will benefit QTS’ customers by further detailing and clarifying the important role that our audit and control team plays in supporting our customers’ risk management activities.”
