Ultra-broadband network construction is increasing around the globe as many European and US operators began building their commercial 100G backbone transmission networks in 2011. In particular, Huawei's 100G coherent technology has attracted many operators as it enables WDM networks, which is seen as the most direct and effective way to resolve bandwidth flood problems. In comparison to other 100G technologies, Huawei’s solution is able to tolerate extensive dispersion as well as polarization mode dispersion, and thereby can adapt to old fibers, while still achieving excellent performance in long-haul transmission.
This solution has already gained recognition with European customers as Huawei worked with Dutch company, KPN international, to deploy a commercial 100G pan-European WDM network in June this year. Huawei will continue to use its 100G coherent technology to enable other European customers to deploy commercial 100G networks.
