Powered by BroadWorks, Israel’s largest telecommunications group introduces feature-rich, affordable hosted communications service
GAITHERSBURG, MD, January 11, 2012 – BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ:BSFT, news, filings), today announced that Bezeq, Israel’s largest telecommunications group, has launched a hosted Unified Communications (UC) service for Israeli businesses of all sizes that is powered by BroadSoft’s BroadWorks® voice application platform.
Since 2005, Bezeq has relied upon BroadWorks for a hosted PBX service that has grown to support tens of thousands of enterprises. To meet the evolving and dynamic communications needs of its customer base, Bezeq will now leverage BroadWorks to deliver an enterprise offering that extends beyond standard PBX capabilities to include a range of hosted communications services such as unified messaging, enhanced voicemail, voicemail to email and meet-me conferencing.
Bezeq serves four distinct business segments ranging from Small Office Home Office (SOHO) environments with just a handful of users to large, multi-location organizations supporting hundreds of employees. Bezeq required a single platform from which it could provide each business segment with a customized offering that includes hosted communications services most applicable to their specific needs.
“The versatility of BroadWorks is well suited to the diverse communications needs of our customers,” said Yuval Keinan, Chief Technology Officer, Bezeq. “The ability of the BroadWorks platform to provide a full range of hosted services enables Bezeq to cultivate the subscriber relationship by offering a new suite of innovative services that improves our value proposition and helps us to differentiate our offerings from competitors.”
BroadSoft® believes this hosted UC service enables innovative global service providers to deliver a hosted offering that can include:
- Scalability and reliability – As a software-based solution, BroadWorks is fully scalable, delivers 99.999% uptime, and provides voice and data connectivity in the event of planned or unplanned disruptions.
- Proven Deployments – The BroadWorks platform has been proven through deployments by hundreds of telecommunications service providers. In addition, it has been validated to support more than 20 million subscribers in a single deployment.
- Feature-Rich and Affordable – The Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model lowers the solution cost so that Bezeq’s customers will be able to experience a rich set of enhanced capabilities for hosted voice and UC without the operational and maintenance expenses associated with on-premises PBX equipment.
- Open Platform – BroadWorks open architecture offers an enterprise solution that works seamlessly with leading handset vendors. In addition, Bezeq will benefit from an open interface and portal so it can easily manage settings for their customers.
“We’ve enjoyed a tremendous working relationship with Bezeq. The fact it was one of the first service providers to leverage BroadWorks is a testament to its long-term commitment to innovation in meeting the communications needs of its customers,” said Leslie Ferry, vice president marketing, BroadSoft. “With its powerful capabilities and ease of use, BroadWorks continues to enable service providers like Bezeq to meet the cost, feature and functionality needs of business customers of all sizes.”
