ARTEL selects Cable&Wireless Worldwide to provide global data network

New York, December 15, 2011 – Cable&Wireless Worldwide, a global mission critical communications provider, has won a contract to provide ARTEL, a global leader in information technology and managed telecom and network services based in Reston, VA, with a data network that connects its 30 locations in ten countries across the globe.

When fully implemented, the MPLS-based (multi-protocol label switching) wide area network will connect satellite earth stations, ARTEL network points and several US Government locations in the U.S., Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific providing resilient and reliable network connectivity for U.S. Government agencies around the world. The solution, which utilises C&W Worldwide’s global Multi-Service Platform (MSP), is compatible to ARTEL’s existing networks and can be easily scaled to meet its growing network demands over the next few years.

C&W Worldwide’s global MSP supports the delivery of a number of multiple services over a single network which helps reduce costs for customers and provides the flexibility to implement new services with minimal disruption, and also the ability to scale bandwidth across the network to deliver what customers need as corporate demands grow.

“As a critical communications service provider, C&W Worldwide has worked closely with the team at ARTEL to design and develop a flexible and resilient integrated data network solution that will enable ARTEL to better serve its U.S. Government clients,” said Andrew Morawski, Managing Director, Americas at C&W Worldwide.

“We have been impressed with the customer focus and dedication of the team at C&W Worldwide. With C&W Worldwide as our partner, we can continually enhance our capabilities to deliver solutions based on a diverse portfolio of global, secure, managed communications services and the ability to meet the stringent and evolving satellite requirements of the U.S. Government,” said Derek Woods, President of ARTEL.
