VoicePulse Chooses Telx For Redundant Colocation Services

Leading VoIP Provider Accelerates Time to Provisioning, Improves Streaming Audio Quality and Eliminates Risk of Downtime in Telx’s Secure, Highly Available San Francisco Data Center

New York, NY (November 1, 2011) – Telx®, a leading interconnection and data center provider in strategic North American markets, today announced that VoicePulse has selected Telx as its trusted colocation partner at its SSAE 16-compliant data center in San Francisco. Telx’s carrier-neutral, connection-rich data center gives VoicePulse a wider choice in network connectivity, improving the audio quality of VoicePulse’s VoIP for residential, wholesale and carrier customers.  Telx will also provide redundant backup systems to eliminate network downtime and increase reliability of the company’s VoIP network.

As a Telx colocation customer, VoicePulse can now provision new carrier connections in just a few hours as opposed to several days or weeks to more efficiently meet customer demand. In addition, VoicePulse will also be able to take advantage of Telx’s carrier-neutral environment to provision partnerships with carriers who can provide low network latency for improved VoIP quality.

“Leasing directly from Telx makes it easier to directly connect to carriers of our choice,” said Ravi Sakaria, CEO, VoicePulse. “Previously, provisioning was difficult because we had to deal with a ‘middle man,’ and that meant additional time, higher costs, and delays in launching new services to our customers. Today, Telx gives us a competitive advantage by helping us quickly and cost effectively, connect to new carriers and to other businesses. Telx understands that this is where the value lies for VoIP providers.”

Telx also hosts VoicePulse’s VoIP services on high performance, highly redundant servers to ensure uninterrupted service and a highly secure environment for its customers’ mission-critical operations. Telx’s state-of-the-art data center at 200 Paul Avenue in San Francisco, one of the premier interconnection centers in Northern California, is seismically rated for protection against earthquakes. As with all Telx facilities, it is also compliant with or exceeds the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) industry standards, as well as being compliant with SSAE 16 guidelines for access controls and physical security.

“We chose Telx because of their stellar reputation for quality of service,” Sakaria said. “For the future we are looking at Telx colocation opportunities at 60 Hudson in New York as we continue to expand our services and colocation strategy.”

“Telx welcomes VoicePulse to our global ecosystem of the world’s top-tier telecom providers at 200 Paul Avenue,” said Eric Shepcaro, CEO of Telx. “Telx’s secure, redundant environment enables VoicePulse to eliminate risk of VoIP network downtime, enabling VoicePulse to raise the bar for network performance and customer satisfaction.”
