PAETEC Holding Corp (NASDAQ: PAET), has announced that it has been awarded a contract allowing it to sell its solutions to more than 700 government agencies, educational institutions, and enterprises that leverage the State of Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR). The local services that PAETEC will be selling include local voice services, Internet, and Fixed Wireless.
The agreement was signed with the State of Texas in early November and allows PAETEC to serve as an important business communications provider for the DIR. The company has worked with the DIR in the past, most recently securing a contract in early 2011 that allowed PINNACLE Software to be sold to agencies who work with the department, and a contract in 2009 that noted PAETEC as being one of two preferred Internet providers to DIR agencies.
“This new contract secures PAETEC’s position as a vital partner for Texas agencies for voice and Internet services,” said Dean Yeck, vice president and general manager of sales operations in Texas for PAETEC. “These agencies now have the ability to organize and execute their IT and telecom services more efficiently since PAETEC can serve as a single point of contact for a wide array of network and communications services.”
