Leading UK network operator will leverage BroadWorks for next generation hosted enterprise communications offering
GAITHERSBURG, MD, November 10, 2011 – BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ:BSFT, news, filings), the leading global provider of software that enables mobile, fixed-line, and cable service providers to deliver real-time communications over their IP networks, today announced that Gamma, one of the United Kingdom’s leading telecommunications network operators, has selected the BroadWorks® voice application platform by BroadSoft® – for Horizon – Gamma’s premier hosted communications service that delivers an extensive range of fixed and mobile telephony capabilities to mid-market enterprises in the United Kingdom.
As one of the largest carriers of voice traffic in the UK, Gamma will leverage its own IP backbone and the BroadWorks platform to bring feature-rich, robust hosted communications services to market. This platform delivers a broad range of Unified Communications (UC) services including video, voice, hosted call center, conferencing, messaging and mobility, for businesses and consumers worldwide. Horizon includes an easy-to-use web portal that can be accessed from any device and can be used by any size organization – from single sites to large corporations.
“Our focus has always been on providing channel partners with high quality communications services, and BroadSoft’s reputation for scalable, reliable and proven technology solutions gives us the confidence that we now have the ideal platform to launch our next-generation service offerings,” said Richard Bligh, marketing director, Gamma. “The combination of BroadSoft’s voice application platform with our IP network backbone, as well as a range of mobile and data applications, will enable us to provide new and innovative services for UK businesses.”
We believe the BroadWorks platform will deliver several key benefits to Gamma and its enterprise customers, including:
- Scalable and Reliable – As a software-based solution, Gamma will benefit from a scalable solution that delivers 99.999% uptime.
- Open Platform – Gamma will leverage a highly open architecture to offer an enterprise solution that works seamlessly with leading handset vendors. At the same time, Gamma resellers and customers will benefit from an open interface and portal so they can easily manage settings for their customers.
- Proven Deployments – The BroadWorks platform has been proven through deployments by hundreds of telecommunication service providers. In addition, it has been validated to simultaneously support more than 20 million subscribers.
- Feature-Rich and Affordable – The Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model lowers the solution cost to Gamma’s enterprise customers so that Gamma’s mid-market enterprises will be able to experience a rich set of enhanced capabilities for hosted voice and UC without the operational expenses associated with legacy PBX equipment.
“Gamma has established itself as an innovator and leader in the UK market for voice services and applications,” said Leslie Ferry, vice president marketing, BroadSoft. “We are thrilled that Gamma has selected BroadSoft to anchor its next generation service offerings, and look forward to supporting its efforts to provide enterprise customers with a superior, reliable hosted communications experience.”
