Acapulco, Mexico, November 7, 2011 – Cisco announces today that it is bringing to the Mexican market, through its indirect model, the Cisco® ScanSafe Cloud Web Security solution.ScanSafe helps ensure high performance and integrity during the access to any device, anytime and anywhere, reducing the latency of Web browsing. The new service combines a high level of security for Web browsing with the facilities and flexibility that software as a service can offer.
Suitable for all business sizes and industries, the solution is designed to ensure both mobility and flexibility to access the corporate network in a transparent and highly secure way. With ScanSafe, mobile devices can browse the Web without the need to access a corporate central site, or to have security solutions installed on them. This is allowed through the devices’ direct access to the classification services of Web pages, and the content analysis, antivirus and anti-malware of the Security as a Service (SaS) Cisco solution. The access profile is defined based on the policy of each company.
“The use of ScanSafe offers a new way of navigating to the corporate users of mobile devices. In addition, the adoption model of software as a service is architected to help enable all aspects of scalability, reliability, security and maintenance to be managed by the client. This ensures saving time, money and effort, offering enhanced capabilities to corporate clients,” said Oscar Gutierrez, of Cisco Mexico.
The control and management are done through customized and unique portals for each company, ensuring a high level of reports and information on the users’ traffic profile. The ScanSafe solution can also be integrated into the line of Cisco Integrated Services Router. Thus, all users who are on a branch, for example, can use this security tool by accessing the Cloud ScanSafe directly via the router.
ScanSafe is available in Mexico through Cisco’s channel and distribution partners.
