Bravura Solutions selects Cable&Wireless Worldwide’s Infrastructure as a Service

  • Six-and-half-year contract to host Bravura’s business critical applications in secure, UK-based data centre environments

London / Sydney, 15 November 2011: Cable&Wireless Worldwide, a provider of managed hosting, networks and applications, has been selected by Bravura Solutions to provide a full suite of managed hosting and hybrid cloud services in the UK. The six-and-half-year, multi-million pound contract will enable Bravura, a global supplier of transfer agency and wealth management software applications and professional services, to host its Software as a Service (SaaS) applications in C&W Worldwide’s secure, UK-based private cloud environment.

With C&W Worldwide’s fully managed Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) capabilities, Bravura can take advantage of a robust private cloud environment combined with a resilient, high performing and secure next-generation network, both ensured with stringent Service Level Agreements (SLAs). As C&W Worldwide will look after the IT infrastructure, Bravura can focus on its core business, specialising in developing and delivering financial services software that serves the needs of more than 150 client installations around the world.

“C&W Worldwide’s innovative services and technological architecture combined with stringent end-to-end service levels across both the cloud environment and the network to access it, is exactly what we needed. We are looking forward to transforming our cloud capabilities as it will enable us to continue delivering reliable and efficient transfer agency and wealth management solutions to our clients, especially as we expand the business internationally,” says Nick Parsons, Chief Technology Officer at Bravura.

“The managed hosting portfolio includes infrastructure, consultancy, design and support, enabling organisations to consolidate and transform their IT estate for greater flexibility without the investment in infrastructure or the burden of managing the infrastructure themselves,” says Matt Key, Managing Director of Enterprise at Cable&Wireless Worldwide. “C&W Worldwide will provide Bravura with end-to-end services from consultancy, to design and round the clock support.”

C&W Worldwide already provides high speed next-generation network connectivity for Bravura in the UK and several locations in Asia. Under this contract Bravura will also have access to Flexible Computing, C&W Worldwide’s public cloud computing platform, allowing it to buy computing services on-demand. Flexible Computing is accessed through C&W Worldwide’s next-generation network, essentially placing it within the organisations own Wide Area Network (WAN) and is specifically designed to facilitate the trust, security, compliance, control and availability requirements of enterprises.

In addition, Application Performance Management (APM) will provide greater control over and visibility of Bravura’s applications. APM monitors network traffic and application performance in real-time, optimising bandwidth to ensure strong end-user experience. It can also accelerate the performance of business-critical applications to ensure they function consistently.
