NEW YORK, NY – October 18, 2011Telx, a leading interconnection and data center provider in strategic North American markets, today announced that it has been recognized as the 2011 Communications Company of the Year by the New Jersey Technology Council (NJTC). Criteria for this award include each company’s impact on its industry, overall company growth, contribution to industry and technological standards and consistent success in the marketplace. Telx will be honored for its achievements at the 15th annual NJTC Awards Gala, Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Addison Park in Aberdeen, NJ.

2011 has proved to be a significant one for Telx with new customers in expanding vertical markets, as well as expanded data center capacity and product additions. The company was named to the Inc. 5000 in 2011 for the second consecutive year, was a winner of the Red Herring Top 100 for North America and was designated by Network Products Guide as a 2011 “Hot Company.” In May of 2011, Telx launched the cloudXchange, a purpose-built community of cloud service providers, carrier networks and Enterprise end-users leveraging Telx’s secure, connection-rich data centers to improve the Quality of Experience (QoE) for cloud computing end-users. Telx entered into an agreement to be acquired from GI Partners by two leading equity firms, ABRY Partners and Berkshire Partners, in August.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by NJTC for our many achievements in 2011,” said Eric Shepcaro, CEO of Telx. “Telx views New Jersey as a major connectivity hub, where we currently have two key data center locations. Our New Jersey colocation customers can expect even more innovation and service in 2012.”

The NJTC Awards Gala will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Addison Park in Aberdeen, NJ. The Council will recognize and celebrate New Jersey technology companies and their leaders for business accomplishments in technological innovation. As part of the 15th anniversary celebration, the NJTC will hold its second Hall of Fame induction at the Gala. The elegant, black tie evening is a unique opportunity to meet colleagues, clients and prospective clients in a social setting. Attendance is expected to be 400-500.
