NTT Com Adds Hong Kong to Disaster Recovery Solution

TOKYO, JAPAN – NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) announced today that its Multi-location Disaster Recovery Solution (MDR), which replicates and stores customer data in remote NTT Com data centers to support the business continuity plans of corporate customers, will add a Hong Kong data center to its existing lineup of 12 data centers in Japan, the U.S. and Europe (Germany). Service applications have begun to be accepted today, prior to launch of the actual service in January 2012.

Charges for remote replication and storage in the Hong Kong facility will be the same as those in Japan.

The MDR’s extremely strict security policies are globally unified to ensure consistent system management worldwide.

Customers will pay only one consolidated monthly charge, since the MDR’s comprehensive service package includes storage, network, maintenance and operation. Replication and storage of Tokyo-based customer data in Hong Kong will cost 1.26 million yen (including Japanese consumption tax) per month in the case of 1.5 terabytes (TB) of native storage capacity (logical compressed capacity, max. 6 TB). A database mirroring service will be optionally available.
